Eberhard Unternehmungen: Digital twin of forest for sustainable planning
Eberhard Unternehmungen planned the expansion of a landfill site for inert materials in the canton of Zurich. A key task was to bring the operational development into line with cantonal regulations and official requirements. This involved assessing the impact on nature, in particular valuable oak stands.

About
Eberhard Unternehmungen
Eberhard Unternehmungen, one of Switzerland’s leading construction and environmental engineering companies, is responsible for major earthworks, demolition, and recycling operations across the country. Their projects often involve complex terrain, strict environmental requirements, and large-scale material flows, making accurate and up-to-date spatial data essential. Svarmi’s high-resolution mapping and platform support Eberhard in monitoring progress and ensuring precise execution in line with regulation.

The Challenge

Challenge
Eberhard Unternehmungen planned the expansion of a landfill site for inert materials in the canton of Zurich. A key task was to bring the operational development into line with cantonal regulations and official requirements. This involved assessing the impact on nature, in particular valuable oak stands.

The Solution
how we did it
To support Eberhard Unternehmungen in submitting the project for the expansion of a landfill site, Svarmi created a high-precision digital twin of the entire area, especially the forest. On this basis, a comprehensive inventory was created with all relevant data – including the number of trees, tree heights, trunk diameters, and the exact distribution of different tree species and other natural values.
Thanks to Svarmi's solution, Eberhard Unternehmungen has a modern, efficient, and transparent basis for combining ecological responsibility with operational development.
